What is Link.me?

Link.me is a tool that lets you share all your social media, websites, and online content in one easy link (Bio link). It's for creators and businesses who want to connect with their audience in one place.

How Link.me will be used:

We'll create a pretend Link.me creator bio and turn it into a shop where you can browse and buy your own product.

Step-by-Step Guide

STEP 1: Access Stripe Dashboard

Go to Stripe Dashboard on the web pc/mobile. The web version is more efficient than the app version because you can see the entirety of the dashboard and take care any account problems.

STEP 2: Complete Stripe KYC

Sign up, get the KYC done and finish creating your account correctly to avoid payout delays or escalations.

STEP 3: Find a Legitimate Business

Browse for an actual existing business. This should be easy to find with Tiktok being so popular for entrepreneurs.

💡 Tip:

Has to be a digital product. We chose corruptedcaleb.com. Held down on his product image and on his shop logo then copied the product bio.

Important Note:

Has to be a legitimate existing business otherwise Stripe will ask for TOS page, where you sell? etc and just providing Link.me won't cut it.

STEP 4: Sign Up for Link.me

Now leave that you have finished and collected this business, continue onto Link.me

You'll be signing up here as a personal account, nothing more. Everything can be faked but make your name the business you just took (Eg: CorruptedCaleb).

STEP 5: Navigate to Monetize

Head to your profile (you should already be preloaded onto it). There should be 3 lines going vertically down at the top right of your screen.

Click that and head to where it says "Monetize." After clicking on Monetize scroll down to where it says "Sell Digital Products." Once you click it you should be asked "Downloadable Content" or "Pay to Unlock" choose the downloadable one.

STEP 6: Create Your Product

Now you create your product. Create the product title with the actual title from the legitimate business same goes for the product description, and thumbnail. The price of your product can be customized to your liking.

Note:

Some banks have purchase limits and can flag at a purchase that is just $100. Make sure you know what your bank log can take.

STEP 7: Stripe Verification

It should stop you from actually publishing your product but it'll save as a draft and have you or encourage you to do a verification. This verification is via Stripe. You'll log in with the credentials from the stripe you created earlier. It may prompt you to KYC again and that's fine, do it again.

DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP

📝 Note:

Remove the pre-added business description and make a two sentence simply like " I sell _ for _ on ____" etc.

Ours was "We sell custom Procreate Brushes. These brushes are for designers on iPad using Procreate"

Once that's done you should be taken to a page where it says they'll go onto verifying your information. This process should be instantaneous or within a couple of minutes.

STEP 8: Wait and Complete Email Verification

You are done. Let the Link.me sit for a couple hours or next day. You can browse through Stripe to complete email verification and other things.

STEP 9: Set Up Link.com Account

After you've let the Link.me sit head to Link.com and create an account. The information used to sign up does NOT have to match the bank logs information. Once you are in click on "Wallet" and add your plaid bank credentials there.

STEP 10: Make Your Purchase

When you are ready head to the store you created, click on the product you made, press "Purchase Now" and press the "Link" button and sign into the account you just created. It's a wallet, it pre-saves your payment methods.

Note:

If the bank is grayed out you are flagged and the payment is not available. One instance it went away for me but I don't know how.

A read on Link.com

You won't see this option everywhere although it's ran by Stripe not all Stripe checkout merchants accept Link. If you stumble across one that does it's likely to only allow the cc payment method attached to the Link.com only. We still encourage searching for more like Link.me.
